Instructions for following us

Dear Family,

Here are the instructions for following us.

You go to the link: https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:4676487/vessel:CMA%20CGM%20RODOLPHE

Here you can see all the details of the ship, it’s last updated position (sometimes when the ship is too far from shore it does not update for several days – I noticed this when following its previous journey).

You can use the same link on mobile (very unfriendly way to use) or download the app – here Mrudula is the expert and can help you. I never used the app.

To use the web:
Voyage Information gives you the information about the ship at a glance. It starts with showing you the actual time of arrival (ATA) at the port where it last was/is and a line shows the next port and the estimated time of arrival (ETA) at this port.

If you scroll down to “latest position” section, you can see the when the last position was received, local time of the ship, and what the status is (right now it says moored).

There is a map here. Click on that map on “Show on Live Map” and you will see the current position of the ship – sometimes it is highlighted with a black dotted border – right now it shows the ship as a white ship shaped box moored at the port.

If I zoom out, it will show it with the black dotted border.

Once you are in the map on the computer, be careful where you click, the box with the ship picture should be there – else, it means it does not highlight the ship anymore.

You can zoom in and out to see the path of the ships and so on – best is to play around with it.

Once I get access, I will write to you more in detail with advanced features. I hope for now, this helps.

With lots of love,
Payi.
