In 2006, in the last quarter, I interviewed with UCB Pharma. After the rounds in campus, I was invited to visit the offices in Braine-l’Alleud in Belgium. It was to later become my office. I was supposed to also talk to this IT leader, Nosh Lentin, who was originally from India.
I do not remember meeting him on the day of my interview (perhaps he was not there that day or perhaps I did talk to him – however, all other memories created with Nosh seemed to have wiped off this from my mind). I remember his impatience with incompetence and lack of speed while at the same time he was able to connect to several people.
My future boss, later told me, that Nosh had spoken to him about me at the time of evaluation. He had mentioned that he should watch out for this girl. “She is very powerful”. Why? – Because my name was “Parvathy Sankar” – he was the first one who brought out the religious significance of my name.
I am thinking of Nosh today, on his birthday, – the Nosh who was fearless and yet kept his people bonded through his funny bone.

The only photo I still have of Nosh.
